What makes an effective leader?
An effective leader is one that listens; collaborates; creates an environment of inclusiveness; takes responsibility seriously but not their title; laughs often; shares stories and experiences and has passion about the mission.
What can nonprofits do to improve their fundraising or operations?
Go back to basics. They need to clean then glean their database; maintain close contact and develop deeper more meaningful relationships with donors through alignment with mission and core values; due an internal audit of all actions within the agency to be sure the actions do in fact align with the mission.
How can charitable giving be improved?
Market segmentation/mission/vision alignment. It’s not about the dollars it’s about aligning individual; corporate and even foundation mission with the vision of an agency. Defining who you are then designing initiatives to fulfill that mission.
How does your charitable work affect you personally?
I am naturally drawn to collaboration and community problem-solving. In working within the nonprofit sector for 20+ years I am intrigued by change; embrace differences; and strive on problem solving. It’s just plain fun.
