What are the "returns" for working in the charitable sector (personal, societal, monetary, etc.)?
By working in the charitable sector, we have an opportunity to strengthen our community while enjoying personal fulfillment by making a positive difference in the lives of many. NPower staff members also have the opportunity to work for something we strongly believe in – that technology can change the world and make a significant impact on the lives of many in our community.
What can nonprofits do to improve their fundraising or operations?
We believe nonprofits can accomplish their goals by using technology to more effectively and efficiently raise funds to help them achieve their missions. Through technology innovation and new IT solutions, organizations can more easily connect with volunteers and donors. They can also reach more, do more, serve more of their constituents and clients.
What makes an effective leader?
An effective leader inspires, leads by example and listens. He or she is passionate about the organization’s mission and is committed to positive change. An effective leader knows his or her own weaknesses and builds a team with smart, talented people who complement one another.
What changes would you like to see in the charitable sector?
In the charitable sector, nonprofits have the opportunity to be more creative, more innovative, and leverage for-profit knowledge found in Charlotte’s business community. Nonprofits need to adjust their management model to break even or make a profit to be sustainable, especially in the current economic environment.
