Why did you get involved in charitable work?
Our community involvement dates to 1910. We love our community and believe a successful business needs to be in a successful community. We do not want to be a “parasite.”
How does your charitable work affect you personally?
A friend of mine once said, “People hate to give, but love to have given.” I share this view.
How can charitable giving be improved?
Don’t assume that because gifts are down that businesses should do more (business income is also down). Make sure businesses know that charitable organizations have worked to reduce their costs.
What makes an effective leader?
A leader sets the goals and then supports and encourages the others in the organization that do the work.
