Riegelwood fund created

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Community Foundation of Southeastern North Carolina has created a fund to help victims of the deadly tornado in Riegelwood with long-term recovery needs. The twister ripped through the small town Nov. 16, killing at least eight people, wounding more and flattening homes. The foundation is seeking donations to the Riegelwood Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, established the same day the tornado hit, and will use 100 percent of contributions for direct aid, it says. Contributions to the fund can be mailed to the foundation at 321 North Front Street, Wilmington, N.C., 28401. Additional information is available at the foundation’s website.
