* International Association for Advisors in Philanthropy reported record member attendance at national conference; association elected 11 new board members.

* Applications being accepted for 2007 Disney Minnie Grants, awards for community service projects by youth in and outside U.S.; application online, deadline Aug. 30.

* Sally Sara, Australian Broadcasting Corporation reporter, received 2007-2008 International Women’s Media Foundation Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship for human rights journalism.

* National Center for Black Philanthropy named Wachovia main sponsor of sixth national conference in Washington D.C. area; includes presentation of six 2007 philanthropy awards.

* Rockefeller Foundation, New York City, named two recipients of 2007 Jane Jacobs Medal, including $100,000; Barry Benepe, 79, for lifetime leadership; Omar Freilla, 33, for new ideas and activism in the South Bronx.

* United Way of Central Carolinas will hold Young Leaders Signature Event June 30; volunteers to help adults, children of member agency Hope Haven.

* Civic Ventures announced 15 finalists, social innovators over age 60, for 2007 Purpose Prize, each to receive minimum $10,000; five finalists to receive $100,000.

* Todd Baker, nonprofit book author, rejoined Grizzard Communications as vice president and senior strategist.

* Bush Foundation, private grantmaking organization, announced 15 2007 Artist fellows from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, each to receive $48,000 in unrestricted funds.

* Ryan Swift, attorney for UPS, named first corporate-sponsored lawyer to join Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s four-month Fellowship Program, partnership between pro bono legal community and corporate community.

* CITI Performing Arts Center, Boston, announced 2007-08 boards of directors and overseers, including election of two new officers, seven new members.

* Seva Foundation appointed Mark Lancaster, former chair of Heifer International, as new executive director.
