Home Depot invests in metro Atlanta

Over the next four years, the Home Depot Foundation will invest more than $7.3 million in the metro Atlanta area with the goal of creating a healthier, more sustainable region.

The foundation will work with local nonprofits that are striving to create affordable housing that is environmentally friendly, and that are working to preserve green space around the city.

“We believe in creating environments – both inside a home and outside in a community – that contribute to the financial stability, personal success, physical health and overall well-being of our neighbors,” Kelly Caffarelli, the foundation’s president, says in a statement.

The foundation will be partnering with the following nonprofits:

* Atlanta Habitat for Humanity

* Southface

* Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation

* Piedmont Park Conservancy

* Woodruff Arts Center

* The BeltLine Inc.
