National Jewish Medical and Research Center, based in Denver and known worldwide for the treatment of patients with respiratory, immune and allergic disorders, and groundbreaking medical research, is seeking a full-time Development Coordinator – Major/Planned Giving in Alexandria, VA for the Washington DC territory.   

Work independently and in coordination with the Regional Director, identify, cultivate and solicit planned and major giving donor prospects capable of giving financial support.  Develop activity plans and implement overall strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of planned and major giving donors as assigned by regional director. Develop strategies to meet or exceed all budgeted income goals for planned and major giving in region. Cultivate planned and major gift donor relationships through telephone, written (letters, invitations, applications, proposals, written materials, etc.) and high level of personal contact.  Follows-up to finalize all donations.

EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Four year college graduate in related field. Additional training in development and non-profit management preferred.

Experience:  Three or more years fund-raising or related experience.  

- OR - Any equivalent combination of Education or Experience.

Special Skills: Knowledge of computer, operations and management.  Excellent written and oral skills.  Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
