The

The Analyst will work as part of the Health Access
Coalition's new Good Health Plan project. The Good Health Plan project is
a major new effort to expand access to affordable, quality health care. The
Analyst will assist in developing and implementing a strategic research plan to
provide HAC, policymakers and the public information on key health policy
issues and to support HAC’s work to expand access to health care and control
the growth in health care costs. Potential research topics might include nonprofit
hospital and health plan responsibilities, affordable coverage for children,
small business health reform and dental care. Reports generated will
include specific proposals for policy changes to address the identified problems. The Analyst will work collaboratively
with HAC's director, assistant director, and outreach coordinator to
disseminate research findings and reports, including presentations to other organizations, media, policymakers and
community groups.
Qualifications:
In depth knowledge of state and federal health policy issues
Strong research, writing and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks
Willingness to work as part of a team
Strong commitment to the mission of the Justice Center and
support for the work of NC HAC
Advanced degree in public health, journalism or law or significant
research and policy work experience in a relevant field.
