CARY, N.C. -- The Cary Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from projects or organizations that benefit Cary and its citizens.

The foundation plans to award at least 10 grants to groups whose collaborations promote volunteerism and enhance or improve other organizations serving people whose needs are not met by existing services.

The available funds for 2008 total $60,000, and individual grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000.

The Foundation will hold workshops to provide details about the grant process on June 12 from noon to 2 p.m., and June 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Both meeting will be held at the Cary Chamber of Commerce at 307 N. Academy Street.

Applications are available online and are due by July 18 at 5 p.m.
