Lawler joins N.C. Community Foundation

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Consultant Patricia Pleasants Lawler has been named southeastern regional associate for the North Carolina Community Foundation.

Lawler, who is based in Wilmington, will provide staff support to the foundation's affiliates in eight counties -- Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Duplin, Onslow, Pender, Robeson and Sampson.

As president of Lawler Consulting in Wilmington, she provided fundraising, management and advocacy advice to clients in the nonprofit sector.

Before starting her consulting firm, Lawler served as senior legislative assistant to Democratic U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge and special assistant for research for Democratic state Rep. Phil Baddour, majority leader of the N.C. House of Representatives.

She serves on the board of the Cape Fear Region of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
