Reynolds Trust names board members

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust has named five new members to its advisory boards for 2008.

Laura Bingham, president of Peace College and Leadership North Carolina, will join the Executive Advisory Council, which oversees the trust's investments and grantmaking programs.

Janet Wheeler and Brooke Burr have been appointed to govern grantmaking for needy residents of Forsyth County as members of the trust's Poor and Needy Advisory Board.

Wheeler is a retired R.J. Reynolds vice president and previously served on the Poor and Needy Advisory Board from 1991 to 1995; Burr is a partner at Leonard Ryden Burr Real Estate.

The Health Care Advisory Board named Moses Carey and Lisa Bell to help supervise the trust's investments in North Carolina health care.

Carey, a lawyer and consultant to the health disparities program of the Department of Health Education at North Carolina Central University, is also a member of the Orange County Board of Commissioners and former executive director of Piedmont Health Services.

Bell is a family-court judge in Charlotte.

All additions to the advisory boards were named by Wachovia, which serves as trustee for the trust.
