Triangle funder focuses on diversity

DURHAM, N.C. - The Triangle Community Foundation is launching an event for local leaders to look at issues that are key to the region's success, plus an award recognizing a group actively engaged in each year's key issue.

The theme for the inaugural event, featuring a benefit dinner to be held May 5 at the Raleigh Marriott City Center, will be "A Diverse and Engaged Community."

Based on applications for the award that were due March 17, the winner will be picked through an online voting process.

The foundation will select the top 10 applicants, who will be asked to submit a video to YouTube for the community to vote on at the foundation's website.
