Winston-Salem Foundation makes grants

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Winston-Salem Foundation has made grants totaling $483,819 to 14 groups in Forsyth County that focus on the arts and culture, health, human services, education and public interest.

Grant recipients, and the total they received, include AIDS Care Service, $50,000; Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, $200,000; Bethesda Center for the Homeless, $30,000; Experiment in Self-Reliance, $25,000; Forsyth Humane Society, $60,000; Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center, $10,000.

Also, Step Ministries, $5,000; North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition, $10,538; Reynolda House Museum of American Art, $7,926; Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem, $35,000; Winston-Salem Urban League, $25,000; Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, $14,218 and $2,317; and Work/Family Resource Center, $9,000.
