Advocacy workshop set for June 24

MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- The Institute for Nonprofits, the Winston-Salem Urban League and the Triangle United Way are offering a day-long workshop that will introduce participants to advocacy rules and legislative processes for nonprofits.

Part of a series on nonprofit advocacy, "Giving Voice to Mission" will take place June 24 at the Perimeter One Conference Center in Morrisville.

Presenters include three North Carolina State University professors: Jocelyn Taliaferro from the social-work department, Richard Clerkin from public administration, and William Kinsella, from the communications department.

Jill Cox, government relations and communications director for United Way of North Carolina, also will speak.

Registration is free for nonprofits and includes lunch. Participants must register by June 20. Contact the Triangle United Way at 463-5035 or email tmoore@unitedwaytriangle.org for further information.
