AT&T gives $107,000 for schools

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Public School Forum of North Carolina has received a $107,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation to support a program aimed at bolstering southeastern school systems.

The grant will support the Forum's work with the Columbia Group, a network of education-reform organizations in seven Southeastern states.

The Forum serves as the coordinator for the effort, which works to improve students' chances of success by improving school systems.

"AT&T is dedicated to connecting people with their world, and there is no better way to do that than through education," Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, says in a statement. "The education-reform initiatives undertaken by the Columbia Group and by the Public School Forum have benefited hundreds of thousands of students throughout the region."

The Public School Forum, based in Raleigh, is a public-policy think-tank that also manages education-related programs throughout the state.
