Community research group launched

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - A new group has formed in the Triangle area to provide organizations with a better understanding of the communities where they work.

Nathaniel Goetz, director of research and advocacy for Triangle United Way, launched Triangle Research Partners to serve clients in the private, public and nonprofit sectors.

The new entity is not affiliated with United Way.

Through the new effort, Goetz will work on behalf of clients to gather, analyze and organize publicly available data designed to help them have a greater impact on their communities and constituents.

The group also will publish "A Community Perspective," a free quarterly newsletter containing analysis and commentary from experts in various fields about issues they face.

Current clients include United Way of Acadiana in Lafayette, La., and Claymont Community Center in Claymont, Del.

Goetz' prior experience includes work with eCivis Inc. and Milken Institute's Regional and Demographic Studies Unit.

He currently serves on the steering community for Triangle Gives Back, an initiatives that aims to better understand philanthropic trends in the Triangle area.
