Day of volunteering set for Oct. 11

Triangle Impact Day, which organizes volunteer opportunities with nonprofits around the region, will take place Oct. 11.

The effort is led by Triangle Impact, a Research Triangle Park-based nonprofit that encourages people to volunteer by organizing short-term, hands-on projects.

Volunteers can participate as individuals, with their families or as members or with a group of friends or co-workers.

Service opportunities on Triangle Impact Day include indoor and outdoor projects:

  • Raleigh Girls Club -- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Raleigh Boys Club -- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Club Teen Center -- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Mordecai Historical Park -- 9 a.m. to noon
  • Inter-Faith Food Shuttle -- 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • North Carolina Museum of Art -- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Habitat for Humanity -- 8 a.m. to noon
