Food bank adds, promotes staff

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina has named four new staffers and promoted three others.

Marcia Cole, the agency's new director of development and community relations, has significant experience in the nonprofit sector, including work with American Red Cross and United Way of Forsyth County.

Kit Broadhurst, who was named director of human resources, has more than 30 years of experience in human resources and has served six years as a board member for the food bank. She also will manage the agency's volunteer program.

Daisy Rodriguez, the new director of childhood hunger programs, comes to the food bank from YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, where she served as director of mentoring services. She will launch the new summer feeding program for the food bank.

Karen Bell Chandler has been named development manager. She previously served as development, faith and community relations manager for Habitat for Humanity in Forsyth County.

In addition, Nikki Cook was promoted to agency relations director; Lee Bettis was promoted to food sourcing manager; and Chuck Harmon was promoted to food drives and salvage operations manager.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina collects and distributes food to more than 400 partner agencies across 18 counties.
