Free ‘extreme makeover’ for nonprofits

Three Triad companies have teamed up to offer a free "extreme makeover" for a local nonprofit.

Now in its seventh year, the pro-bono effort was by TechTriad, which will provide website development for a nonprofit that will be selected from those that apply online no later than March 1.

SNS Inc. will handle technology upgrades that Rooster Communications will complement with public-relations and social-media services.

Offsetting the technology costs are funds provided with a grant from the Weaver Foundation.

To apply, visit the "Nonprofit Giveback" at www.roostercomm.biz, and then link to TechTriad's online application.

The nonprofit that is selected must provide services for local residents and the makeover should boost the organization's ability to provide its services to Triad communities.

Excellent idea! I wonder if it could be replicated widely, even in rural areas.
