Interact gets new partners, donation

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Expanding its effort to provide a full-range of on-site services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, Interact has signed two new partners and received a $150,000 gift.

The Raleigh-based agency plans to open the Safety and Empowerment Center this summer at its new Oberlin Road facility, hoping the center will serve as a national model for providing comprehensive on-site services for families in crisis.

The addition of Southlight and Easter Seals' ASAP program brings to eight the number of organizations partnering with Interact on the project.

Existing partners include the Raleigh Police Department, YWCA of the Greater Triangle, YMCA of the Triangle, Wake Health Services, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and Legal Aid of North Carolina.

Bringing Interact closer to its $5 million capital campaign goal, the agency also received $150,000 from Nationwide, which in turn will receive naming rights for the Plaza of Peace to be located in front of the new Oberlin facility.
