Regional leaders receive awards

DURHAM, N.C. - Leadership Triangle honored four award recipients for their outstanding regional leadership at the 7th Annual Goodmon Awards, held Dec. 11 at the American Tobacco Campus.

The awards were presented in honor of James F. Goodmon, board chair of Leadership Triangle, president of Capitol Broadcasting Company and chair of the A.J. Fletcher Foundation, which publishes the Philanthropy Journal.

Award winners were:

* Bill Shore, GlaxoSmithKline - Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Individual

* Becky Heron, member, Durham County Board of Commissioners - Exemplary Regional Leadership by a Public Official

* Triangle Leadership Academy - Exemplary Regional Leadership by an Organization

* Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative - Exemplary Regional Leadership by a Partnership

Leadership Triangle is a Durham-based nonprofit established in 1992 to promote regionalism throughout the Triangle area.
