Statewide AFP conference set

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Charlotte, Triad and Triangle chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will host their annual statewide philanthropy conference Aug. 7 in Durham.

Titled "Fundraising: How to cultivate, nurture, and harvest giving," the conference will be held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The event will include several sessions covering topics such as the principles of fundraising, cultivating new leaders, endowment campaigns and developing grant proposals.

The keynote speaker for the event is Laura Fredricks, a consultant and motivational speaker for businesses and nonprofits. She will host a program on cultivating donors while expanding campaigns.

Other speakers include Jim Bush of Blackbaud, David Heinen of the N.C. Center for Nonprofits, Brandon Melvin of eTapestry, and Thomas J. Conway of Conway Consulting.

Registration is available online through July 30.
