Triad medical centers team up

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The two major Triad-area medical centers have formed an alliance with the goal of improving patient care while reducing costs.

Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem have created the HealthCare Alliance, a separate limited liability company.

While the two medical centers will retain their independence, they plan to work together through the new entity to boost patient care, medical education and clinical research.

"We share the same values and are convinced that by strengthening our relationship, we can improve health care in the Piedmont Triad," Tim Rice, president and CEO of Moses Cone, says in a statement.

The new HealthCare Alliance may add more partners in the future.
