DURHAM, N.C. - In an effort to help Triangle-area nonprofits navigate their way through the recession, the Triangle Community Foundation will hold a workshop in Chapel Hill Aug. 27.

The session, "Retool for 2010: The Sequel," is a follow-up to a similar seminar and will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education.

The session will feature an opening address by Christy Shaffer, president and CEO of Inspire Pharmaceuticals, as well as workshop sessions on building organizational strength, building a fundraising plan and building an effective board.

The session is $35 and includes lunch; details and registration are available online.

The workshop is part of the foundation's Economic Response Initiative, which aims to strengthen local nonprofits so they can better weather the economic downturn.
