Triangle fundraisers present awards

 

DURHAM, N.C. - At its celebration of National Philanthropy Day on November 13, the Triangle Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals honored local fundraisers and donors.

The organization presented awards to individuals, groups and businesses that have supported philanthropy in the Triangle area:

  • Time Warner Cable, Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation
  • Ogilvy Durham, Outstanding Philanthropic Organization
  • Bill McCoy, former vice chairman of BellSouth, and his wife, Sara, Outstanding Philanthropists
  • Nicholas Marriam, founder of the Nickelby Project, Outstanding Young Philanthropist
  • Beverly Biggs, fundraiser for N.C. Prevention Partners, Outstanding Fundraising Professional
  • Band Together, Special Recognition

The Association of Fundraising Professionals encourages professionalism and responsibility in fundraising. In addition to the Philanthropy Day celebration, the Triangle chapter also hosts breakfasts, luncheons, seminars, workshops and an annual conference.
