Triangle fundraisers provide mentoring

RALEIGH, N.C. - Fundraisers in the Triangle area have launched a mentoring program designed to build skills and improve collaboration within the profession.

The effort, launched by the Triangle chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, will be chaired by Dee Blake, senior vice president of donor relations for Triangle United Way.

The program, which pairs seasoned fundraisers with those newer to the field, also aims to boost professional development among all local fundraisers, as well as provide a foundation for ethical standards for the profession.

Mentors must have at least five years of professional development experience and be willing to meet regularly with an assigned mentee for six to nine months.

Application forms for mentors and people to be mentored are available online and should be submitted to Sharon Tripp, chapter administrator.
