RALEIGH, N.C. - Wake Education Partnership has passed the halfway mark in its annual campaign, raising over $500,000 from area corporations.
The advocacy organization for Wake County schools kicked off its 2008 annual campaign at a breakfast meeting April 28 at the Cardinal Club in Raleigh.
Among the corporations that announced pledges toward the campaign's goal of $1 million were Progress Energy, with a $75,000 gift, Time Warner Cable with $50,000, and RBC Centura with $31,500.
All making contributions ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 were the Kids ‘n Community Foundation, GlaxoSmithKline, Closure Medical, Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and MeadWestvaco.
