Workshop to focus on wealthy donors

RALEIGH, N.C. - A luncheon workshop for nonprofits will focus on engaging wealthy donors and developing a successful fundraising pitch.

The session, "Engaging affluent philanthropists in today's challenging times," is hosted by the Philanthropy Journal and will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at First Citizens Center on Six Forks Road in Raleigh.

The workshop will be led by Robin Ganzert, deputy director of philanthropic services for the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Before joining Pew, Ganzert served as senior vice president and national director of philanthropic strategies for Wachovia Wealth Management and founded the Wachovia National Center for Planned Giving.

The workshop will include a discussion of the current philanthropic landscape, as well as advice, pitfalls and strategies for engaging wealthy donors.

Ganzert also will discuss developing the groundwork required to deliver a successful pitch to high-net-worth donors.

The session includes lunch and costs $20 for Philanthropy Journal members and $30 for nonmembers.
