Tanger outlets raise $1M

Wake Tech Foundation named three new board members, including Mike Desmond, vice president and executive general manager, Hendrick Cary Auto Mall and Capital Area Accessory Distributors,. Cary; Judy Fourie, president, J. Fourie & Company; and David Campbell, human resources leader for Latin American product sales organization, Cisco Systems.

Michelle Hughes, vice president for programs, Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina, received Distinguished Alumni Award, top honor for graduates of School of Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Thompson Child & Family Focus, Charlotte, successfully concluded $10 million capital campaign; funds to be used to open  Early Childhood Services Center at new Clanton Road campus and start expansion of Saint Peter's Lane campus in Matthews. 

Forsyth Jail and Prison Ministries, Winston-Salem, received $10,000 Joel A. Weston, Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence in Non-Profit Management from Joel A. Weston, Jr. Memorial Award Endowment Fund honoring local nonprofit, health or human-service organization that has demonstrated exceptional organizational excellence.
