A report from the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund says some financial advisers believe their clients will increase their charitable giving to offset expected tax hikes, the Boston Globe reported July 21 (see charitable giving story).

Blue Cross insurers hoard cash

A new report from Consumers Union says seven in 10 Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurers over the past decade, when they were hitting individual consumers with double-digit premium rate hikes, built surpluses totaling at least three times what regulators require for minimum solvency, MarketWatch reported July 22 (see Blue Cross surplus story).
