BP undecided on claims from religious groups, charities

Months after its Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and its well started gushing oil, BP says it has not yet decided how to handle claims filed by religious groups and other charities that are at risk because people no longer can afford to give them donations, the Associated Press reported July 4 (see oil spill and charities story).

U.S. pledges $15 million to preserve concentration camp

The U.S. has pledged to give $15 million to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation to preserve the site of the concentration camp and show American commitment to Holocaust education, remembrance and research, CNN reported July 3 (see concentration camp story).

A top financial donor to former President George W. Bush has close ties to the construction company selected to build the Bush presidential library at Southern Methodist University, The Dallas Morning News reported July 5 (see Bush library story).
