On the heels of an outpouring of charitable giving to support relief efforts after the earthquake in Haiti, experts say, fundraising may be tough to support relief efforts after the massive quake in Chile, the Star-Ledger in Newark, N.J., reported March 2 (see donor fatigue story).

Wealthy Americans giving less, study says

A new study by PNC Wealth Management says wealthy Americans still are feeling charitable in the economic slump but are giving less, The Wall Street Journal reported March 1 (see wealthy givers story).

Givers urged to be prepared for criticism

With givers sometimes taking heat for good intentions gone awry, activists and academics say givers should give up any ideas of winning praise for their work and be prepared to take criticism, and a growing industry of groups has emerged to help givers do that, The Wall Street Journal reported March 3 (see donor criticism story).
