Gates investing $1.5 billion in maternal and child health
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will invest $1.5 billion over five years on maternal and child health, family planning and nutrition programs in developing countries, marking a new direction for the foundation, which has focused its health grantmaking on infectious disease, vaccines, and H.I.V. and AIDS, The New York Times reported June 7 (see Gates Foundation story).
