IRS gives nonprofits 80 more days to file

The IRS says thousands of nonprofits that failed to file returns have 80 extra days to register before losing their losing their tax-exempt status, The Denver Post reported July 26 (see IRS filing story).

IRS says some colleges fail to report all taxable income

The director of the exempt organizations division of the IRS says some colleges and universities may not be reporting the full extent of their taxable income, Bloomberg reported July 26 (see nonprofit colleges story).
