Kintera cuts loss for quarter, year

Kintera, a provider of software to nonprofits and government, says it more than halved its net loss for both the fourth quarter and the year ended Dec. 31, 2007.

The San Diego-based company says it lost $3.1 million, or 8 cents a share, on revenue of $9.5 million for the fourth quarter, compared to a net loss of $6.7 million, or 18 cents a share, on revenue of $9.7 million in the same period a year earlier.

For the year, Kintera reported a net loss of $15.8 million, or 39 cents a share, on revenue of $44.9 million, compared to a net loss of $33.1 million, or 93 cents a share, on revenue of $41.1 million.

CEO Richard N. LaBarbera says in a statement that Kintera made big changes in 2007 that boosted operations and service.

"Enhancements made to our platform, infrastructure, processes, and finances have helped increase client loyalty," he says.
