No punitive damages for Wells Fargo in nonprofit lawsuit
A day after it ordered Wells Fargo to pay $29.9 million in compensatory damages to four Minnesota nonprofits that lost money in one of the bank's investment programs, a jury decided not to impose punitive damages on the bank, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported June 3 (see Wells Fargo story). A lawyer for the nonprofits had asked for $100 million in punitive damages.
