Partnership aims to boost nonprofit workforce

TechSoup and the International Commission on Workforce Development are working together to boost the nonprofit sector in North America.

The organizations will work together to make the commission's collection of e-learning courses available to nonprofits and libraries in the U.S. and Canada.

The courses, which will be offered online, range from instruction in specialized technology and programming languages to business skills such as sales, management and customer service.

The commission also will donate its E-Skills 360, software for technology-skills training, through TechSoup to qualified nonprofits for personnel and volunteer instruction.

TechSoup is a San Francisco-based nonprofit created to provide technological resources to nonprofits by distributing software, hardware and training.

The International Commission on Workforce Development, also based in San Francisco, aims to equip workers in developing countries and nonprofit personnel with business and technology skills.
