Rockefeller awards Jane Jacobs Medals
Rockefeller Foundation named Jane Jacobs Medal winners, with prize of $100,000 each: Jane Jacobs Medal for Lifetime Leadership went to Peggy Shepard, executive director and co-founder, West Harlem Environmental Action, Inc.; Jane Jacobs Medal for New Ideas and Activism went to Alexie Torres-Fleming, founder, Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice, and co-founder, Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance.
