Service award winners announced, Council for Advancement and Support of Education

Council for Advancement and Support of Education named five recipients of Distinguished Service Awards, recognizing service, leadership:

* E. Burr Gibson, executive chair, Marts & Lundy, received CASE Lifetime Achievement Award

* Vartan Gregorian, president, Carnegie Corporation of New York, received James L. Fisher Award for Distinguished Service to Education

* William E. Skelton, 1940 graduate of Virginia Tech, received Ernest T. Stewart Award for Alumni Volunteer Involvement

* April L. Harris, associate VP for advancement, University of Alabama-Hunstville, received Frank L. Ashmore Award for Service to CASE and the Advancement Profession

* Mary Kay McPhee, volunteer, received Distinguished Friend of Education Award
