South Florida nonprofits get funding for HIV/AIDS prevention

Nonprofits in South Florida, which has higher rates of HIV and AIDS than any other U.S. metropolitan area, received $9.1 million in grants to fight the spread of new infections of HIV, especially among gay men and black women, The Sun Sentinel reported Aug. 18 (see HIV funding story).
