Blackbaud, a provider of software and related services for nonprofits, reported total revenue and net income grew in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to the same period a year ago.

Revenue for the company, based in Charleston, S.C., grew to $95.5 million in the third quarter from $83.2 million in the same period last year, while net income grew to$ 9.8 million, or 22 cents a share, from $8.5 million, or 20 cents a share, last year.

The company's board of directors approved a fourth-quarter dividend of 12 cents a share payable on Dec. 15, 2011, to stockholders of record on Nov. 28, 2011.

Blackbaud also named Anthony W. Boor, former executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for Brightpoint Inc., a distributor of wireless products and a logistic services provider to the wireless industry, as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Boor, who begins work Nov. 14, succeeds Timothy V. Williams, who previously announced his retirement.
