01.18.12: News about grants, gifts

Piedmont Triad Chapter, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raised over $2.5 million from events in 2011, increase of over $1 million from the previous year.

Conservation Trust of North Carolina, Raleigh, received three-year, $250,000 grant from Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Winston-Salem, to accelerate land and water protection by supporting state's 23 local land trusts and protecting more land along Blue Ridge Parkway.

Health Care Division, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, Winston-Salem, awarded 36 grants totaling over $5.5 million to support select statewide initiatives.

Sign-A-Rama, Greensboro, plans this year to donate $30,000 worth of free and discounted signage to Triad-area nonprofits and charities, same total value it donated last year to 30 organizations.
