Durham Rescue Mission met $4.5 million goal for phase 1 of fundraising campaign to support new Center of Hope building.

SECU Foundation renewed annual commitment of over $4 million to scholarship for high-school graduates and community-college students; foundation has given $32 million to program since 2004.

GlaxoSmithKline Foundation awarded three-year, $1 million grant to 17-campus University of North Carolina system to help campuses better meet needs of students who learn differently.

Durham's Partnership for Children received $25,000 grant from Wells Fargo and $17,500 grant from Morgan Creek Foundation to support rising kindergartners in Durham County.

Food Bank of Central & Easter North Carolina received 15,000 from Caterpillar Foundation.

CORRAL Riding Academy, Cary, awarded $14,000 from Triangle Community Foundation to support its equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted learning programs.

March 2 at noon is deadline for completing online applications for grants from Charlotte Lesbian and Gay Fund, Foundation for the Carolinas, Charlotte.
