Fundraising conference names speakers

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - The head of the Association of Fundraising Professionals International and an executive from an organization that works to spur social action will be the featured speakers at the 2011 North Carolina Philanthropy Conference.

Jocelyn Harmon, director of nonprofit services at Care2 and the author of the Marketing for Nonprofits blog, will deliver the keynote address at the conference, which will be held Aug. 11 at the Sheraton Imperial in Research Triangle Park.

Care2 is an organization that connects its 15 million members with causes and nonprofits they care about.

Andrew Watt, the president and CEO of AFP International, will give the opening address.

The conference, themed "The New Face of Philanthropy: Building for the Future," is being organized by the Triangle, Triad and Charlotte Chapters of AFP.
