Aug. 1: Guilford College, Food Bank, SECU Foundation, and more

Guilford College, Greensboro, kicked off public phase of campaign to raise $60 million; campaign already has raised $42.3 million; campaign steering committee chaired by Joseph M. Bryan Jr., chair of school's board of trustees.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, Winston-Salem, awarded $10,000 grant from The Unifour Foundation Inc. Endowment, component fund of North Carolina Community Foundation, to support school pantry at Alexander Central High School, Taylorsville.
SECU Foundation, Raleigh, provided $250,000 grant to fund ongoing production of Biz Kid$, public-TV series promoting financial education for elementary and middle-school students.
Greensboro Urban Ministry received $7,500 gift through Beth David Synagogue and Temple Emanuel, $2,000 pledge from Christ United Methodist Church, and 2,504 pounds of food and $1,090 in cash from food drive by Craft Insurance Center.
