Aug. 18: Duke, Housing Partnership, United Way, and more

Duke University Libraries getting $13.6 million from Duke trustee David M. Rubenstein, co-founder and managing director, The Carlyle Group, to support Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership awarded $450,000 affordable-housing grant from Neighborhood Works America through federal Capital Funding for the Rehabilitation of Affordable Housing funding.
Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust made $25,000 grant to United Way of Forsyth County in honor of Ron Drago, long-time member of advisory board, Trust's Poor and Needy Division, on retirement as United Way president and CEO.
United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro awarded two grants totaling $106,081 from North Carolina Arts Council.
Sept. 22 at noon is deadline for submitting applications to Arts & Science Council, Charlotte, for regional artist project grants.
Microsoft making $267,437 software donation to Community Blood Center of the Carolinas, Charlotte.
Sept. 9 is deadline for submitting applications for grants of up to $5,000 each to Black Philanthropy Fund, The Winston-Salem Foundation.
