Oct. 13: Easter Seals UCP, Autism, Communites in Schools, and more

12th Annual Easter Seals UCP "Walk With Me" event, Oct. 8, Charlotte, raised over $100,000, bringing to $1 million total raised in 12 years.
Autism Society of North Carolina raised over $240,000 at 13th annual Triangle Run/Walk for Autism, Oct. 8.
Verizon awarded grants of $20,000 each to Communities in Schools of North Carolina and to its affiliates in Durham, Cabarrus, New Hanover, Mecklenburg, and Cumberland counties.
YWCA Central Carolinas, Charlotte, received $12,000 donation from Fifth Third Bank to support series of talks for people living in YWCA transitional housing programs.
Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro awarded $20,000 grant from Lincoln Financial Foundation to develop and expand complementary and alternative medicine program.
RBC Bank donated $10,000 to Communities in Schools of Wake County to support RBC Bank Learning Center at Heritage Park public housing community in downtown Raleigh.
