Hickory women’s center revamps mission

HICKORY, N.C. - The Women's Resource Center in Hickory has crafted a new vision for the organization, which aims to be an agent of change in the community.

The group's new vision is "to be a recognized leader in the community focused on hope, renewal and empowerment by creating choices through diverse partnerships."

The new vision will help the organization have a greater impact as engages in more programs of importance to the community, says Lisa Miller, executive director of the center.

The center was created in 1986 to provide crisis assistance, life-transition services and enrichment programs.
