RALEIGH, N.C. - A group of Wake County women will host a lunch session in March that will focus on how the recession is affecting women and children.
The Women's Network - Connecting for Change, will host its spring education luncheon at Sister's Garden in Raleigh at noon on March 25.
The session will feature remarks from local leaders about the effect of the economy on education, health and home foreclosures.
Speakers include Chris Estes, executive director of the N.C. Housing Coalition, and Maria Spaulding, deputy secretary of the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Women's Network, a program of the North Carolina Community Foundation, is a group of women who aim to use the power of collective philanthropy to improve the lives of women and children in Wake County.
Each member of the network commits to contributing $1,200 a year for five years to the network, which uses the funds to award grants, bolster the foundation's statewide Women's Fund and cover administrative expenses.
