Grantmaking with racial equity

GrantCraft_report

This GrantCraft guide explores what it means to incorporate concern for racial equity into grantmaking, whether as a main focus or simply a way to enrich a group's perspective.

Based on interviews with staff at over 25 major foundations, "Grant Making with a Racial Equity Lens" says many grantmakers feel an emphasis on racial equity helps them "see patterns, separate symptoms from causes, and identify new solutions for their communities."

It also outlines policies and practices and potential hurdles, with ready-to-use tools and questions.

The guide was compiled by GrantCraft writer Julie Quiroz-Martinez, in collaboration with Lori Villarosa of PRE and GrantCraft developmental editor Anne Mackinnon.
